Silver Jewelry Designer

Lone Rock Designs

We like to say, Jane found us. But, we are the ones feeling thrilled at the arrival of her & her incredible silver and gold hand crafted chainmaille jewelry. Here's a little of Jane's Thoughts:

"I have always appreciated things of beauty - beautiful scenery, animals, a sunny warm day without bugs (all too rare around here last summer!), soothing music...

I started making beaded jewelry about 10 years ago while I was living in Hawaii. Making jewelry is very relaxing, therapeutic actually, and I never cease to be amazed at the endless variety of colors, materials, and textures that can be used to create beautiful things... to me, all gifts from God. More recently I have added wire-forming and chainmaille styles ~ chain maille has such elegance, yet the basic weaves are often surprisingly simple. The options are endless and the results can be incredible.

I'm learning to make lampwork glass - there's something about melting glass with a torch, forming it into shapes and then seeing how the colors combine that is mesmerizing. I hope to sell my own lampwork soon, but meanwhile I use lampwork beads purchased only from SRA (self-representing) artists who anneal their beads in a kiln to increase durability. The quality and beauty of artisan-made lampwork far surpasses that of the cheaper imports that have flooded the market in recent years - many imports are not annealed, therefore they have a much higher risk of breakage because you don't know what you're getting.

It is very rewarding when people enjoy my work enough to purchase and wear it, give it as a gift, and even take the time to find me at a show to see if I might have something else they like ."
